The Suffolk Young Poets Competition was Poetry People's annual prize celebrating the best poems from school children across Suffolk.

One of the UK’s oldest poetry showcases for children’s writing, the Competition began in 1989 and over the next thirty years received nearly 37,000 entries  – extraordinary for just one county. The 2019-2020 Competition was disrupted by the Covid pandemic and prizewinners event was subsequently moved online (see below).

The Competition is currently undergoing a review due to the uncertainty of Covid and funding.
